And they are working very hard, but many of them are failing despite that. Its because they've had it all handed to them. They never had to work very hard, so they aren't used to it yet. They need to build it up and fight for it.

I wish they did valedictorian like they used to. I have an unweighted 4.0...

Michelle, what're you talking about with all this fighting for it? As far as I can see, the only fighting you had but they didn't would have been getting into the classes. Am I wrong?

No, I know. But it means like nothing. I have a 4.0 unweighted, which used to be valedictorian.

they still acknowledge it. so it still is there. plus when you go to college, if you do get it, you can say you were. but then again it is the highest weighted GPA...

Oh, I see. That's pretty impressive. Actually, colleges will love that, especially when they look at your classes, regardless of whether you're valedictorian or not. They don't expect everyone who applies to be top of their class.

Also, I think colleges kind of ignore weighted GPA. They just look at what classes you took and what grades you got.

pretty much. i dont think that weighted thing is too helpful with colleges. yes they see that you challenged yourself but if you did very poorly in those classes it looks bad.

Well, if you did poorly, then your weighted GPA would look like the average unweighted GPA. So it wouldn't necessarily look bad.

Hey, its all good. You still passed them, so you're bound to get some credit. Plus your a minority (no offense) so people will beg for you to come to their schools.
